Jedidiah Dunn, Principal

Jed is a third-generation farmer and rancher, raised on the family’s New Mexico cow-calf and hay operation run on BLM and Forest Service allotments. His mother worked the ranch alongside his father, moving cattle and running the operation day to day right beside him, and his grandmother was an early pioneer of organic growing practices on the family’s apple orchards back in the 1950s, long before “organic” was a label anyone used. Growing up immersed in that full family history, not just one side of it, shaped how he sees working land: not as something to protect from agriculture, but as something that stays healthy because of it.

That upbringing set the direction for everything since. Jed spent nearly fifteen years with USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service across six states, from Florida wetlands to Hawaii’s Pacific Islands Area, rising from a field-level Soil Conservationist to State Rangeland Management Specialist. At every stop, the work came back to the same question he grew up with on the ranch: how to keep land productive for the people working it, year after year.

He most recently served as Natural Resources Manager for a Tillamook County dairy cooperative, building an environmental compliance program across fifty-nine farms. Dunn Land Sustainability Consulting continues that same thread, bringing three generations of agricultural grounding and sixteen years of technical experience directly to producers.
